Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of our fixed route bus operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing maintenance functions, budgeting, and supervising a team of technicians and service workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct a team of technicians and service workers to ensure timely and efficient maintenance of our bus fleet.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, budgets, and programs to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.
  • Monitor and control parts inventories, track expenses, and manage financial aspects of the fleet maintenance operation.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including clients, to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements:
  • At least three years of experience managing maintenance functions in a transit bus maintenance shop.
  • Proven track record of managing and directing a team of 10+ employees.
  • Experience working with 50+ buses within the last year.
  • Previous experience in passenger transportation or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and interface with clients, track and control parts inventories, and prioritize work schedules and projects.
  • Strong technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • ASE or manufacturer's certifications are a plus.
