Job Summary

Cerelia USA's state-of-the-art food production plant in Whitehall, Ohio is seeking a skilled Industrial Sanitation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain food production equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and free of any foreign material or damage.
  • Adjust processing equipment to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Document lot numbers, raw dough temperatures, and fat percentages, and communicate any product or ingredient deviations to the production supervisor.
  • Perform on-line bake offs and verify results against quality standards.
  • Report any accidents or maintenance issues to the production supervisor.
  • Follow standard food production operating procedures to operate high-speed and high-tech processing and packaging equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with machinery or equipment operation and partner with maintenance technicians to resolve issues.
  • Calibrate processing and packaging systems as required to meet specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area during food production.
  • Perform change overs and end-of-run cleans, including disassembly and reassembly of necessary equipment as needed.
  • Familiar with using an SAP-based bar code scanner and system, and will be trained if necessary.
  • Log downtime and other maintenance issues into the CMMS system to track and trend equipment breakdowns and production issues for continuous improvement projects.
  • Sanitize machines between runs.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervision.

Quality Assurance:

  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Perform quality control tests and ensure dough meets quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Report any issues or suggestions to improve quality performance or the working environment to the production supervisor.

Health & Safety:

  • Follow company safety policies and practices to foster a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
  • Makes safety a priority while carrying out daily activities.
  • Understand and follow all Lock Out Tag Out Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report any unsafe acts or conditions to the immediate production supervisor.
  • Understand cleaning chemicals and their handling procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc. for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
