Job Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the laboratory unit, providing occupational specific technical direction to subordinate scientists, and making recommendations on the future needs in the scientific specialty area.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and makes recommendations on the future needs in the scientific specialty area.
  • Provides occupational specific technical direction to subordinate scientists.
  • Directs the activities of the laboratory unit.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of public health and regulatory science affairs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13, in the Federal Service.

The selected candidate will be required to provide a copy of their SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action, documenting their appointment as an Executive Branch political, Schedule C, or Non-career SES appointee.

Applicants selected for this position will be subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing upon hiring.
