Position Overview
The Healthcare Access Coordinator is responsible for conducting thorough verification of health insurance coverage. This role involves gathering essential financial and demographic information from discharge planners and external referrals. The individual will consistently demonstrate a commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- SHIFT DETAILS: Per Diem schedule, as needed basis. Every other weekend, 9 AM - 5 PM.
- Collects comprehensive financial and demographic data from discharge planners and external sources.
- Confirms all necessary insurance details, including primary payer information.
- Informs nursing staff of any updates regarding insurance details as required.
- Provides discharge planners with information on insurance coverage and any patient financial obligations.
- Completes all necessary components of the insurance verification documentation.
- Inputs verified insurance information into the computer system.
- Acts as a bridge between verification processes and reimbursement operations.
- Performs additional duties as necessary. All responsibilities outlined are considered essential functions of the role under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not specified but related are not classified as essential functions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.
