Position Overview:

The Electrical Reliability Engineer (ERE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and dependability of electrical systems within the organization. Reporting to the Mill Reliability Leader, the ERE is tasked with overseeing various electrical equipment, including power transmission lines, circuit breakers, transformers, and motors, as well as control systems such as motor controls and PLCs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Devote approximately 60% of time to execution and 40% to proactive improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and implement effective maintenance strategies for all electrical equipment to prevent failures and ensure safe operations.
  • Enhance equipment reliability through the application of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Address Action Items stemming from Preventable Chronic Failures (PCFs) and Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs).
  • Coordinate and manage outage efforts and the startup of electrical systems.
  • Plan and execute inspections and repairs of power and control equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Team on the development and execution of capital projects.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) efforts to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously refine asset maintenance strategies to minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Audit the execution of Equipment Care (EC) systems to ensure compliance and facilitate adjustments.
  • Champion Predictive Maintenance (PdM) initiatives within the designated area.
  • Review and update equipment criticalities and conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
  • Manage small capital reliability improvement projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) programs tailored to asset classes.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years in the Power/Fiber or Paper industry. Experience in troubleshooting electrical issues within a manufacturing environment is essential. Preferred qualifications include Yellow Belt certification or higher, strong command skills, a results-driven mindset, customer focus, effective team-building abilities, and strategic agility.
