As a Day-shift Registered Nurse in our Neurovascular Unit, your responsibilities will include:


• Delivering direct nursing care to patients.


• Effectively monitoring and documenting patient conditions.


• Administering prescribed medications and treatments in a timely manner.


• Assessing and coordinating discharge plans for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans effectively.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
  • Evaluate, update, and revise care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to approved nursing protocols.
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders diligently.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Identify educational needs of patients and their families, considering cultural and special concerns.
  • Provide appropriate teaching and educational materials.
  • Validate and document patient and family understanding of the provided education.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through formal and informal education and clinical study.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Certifications Required:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA required for Critical Care areas, to be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within one year for RNs in designated pediatric areas.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on specific unit needs.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to perform under stress and respond appropriately to challenging situations.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or rehabilitation settings may be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Requires normal vision and hearing capabilities.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids is expected.
  • Physical demands exceed those for light work.
