Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct nursing care in alignment with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans.
  • Observes, documents, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate.
  • Evaluates, updates, and revises care plans to ensure achievement of expected outcomes.
  • Acts as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
  • Executes physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluates educational needs of patients and significant others, considering cultural and special concerns.
  • Provides educational materials and teaching as necessary.
  • Validates and documents patient and family understanding of educational content.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development through formal and informal education and clinical study.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire.
  • For Critical Care areas, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA must be obtained upon hire or within the first year of employment.
  • RNs in specific units must achieve and maintain relevant certifications within designated timeframes.

Work Complexity:

  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to function in a high-stress environment and respond appropriately.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required for acute care roles.
  • Relevant experience in skilled nursing facilities or rehabilitation settings may also be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Must have corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Involves exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
