About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Ascension Illinois. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography equipment and perform various procedures to produce high-quality images.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging, ensuring accurate and safe procedures.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients about the importance of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develop and evaluate images for technical quality, following radiation safety guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and other areas.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Radiologic Technologist (Mammography) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist (Radiography) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Medical Sonographer from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
