Campus Support Specialist

The Campus Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors on campus. This position requires a high level of discretion, independent action, and judgment when interacting with individuals and addressing complex situations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist other personnel in responding to incidents and providing support as needed.
- Monitor assigned areas and site activities to prevent unauthorized access, vandalism, and safety hazards.
- Prepare documentation to provide written support and convey information.
- Report observations and incidents related to students, including discipline, accidents, and rule violations.
- Respond to potential emergencies, such as alarm calls and bomb threats, to ensure the safety of students, staff, and property.
- Administer minor first aid and provide emergency care to students.
- Counsel students on various concerns, including gang-related activity and threats.
- Interact with other agencies, such as law enforcement and community professionals, to communicate and receive information.
- Investigate potential campus crimes and student-related community incidents.
- Transport students to their homes as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some job-related experience is preferred, with military experience considered in lieu of job experience.
- Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance, Tuberculosis clearance, valid driver's license, and evidence of insurability.
- CPR and First Aid Certificates, with certificates from internet courses not accepted.
- SB 1626 certification, with completion within the first 12 months of employment.
