Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at NYULMC. As a CT Scan Specialist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures using computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Procedures: Accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
  • Patient Care: Effectively assess patients' information and status, and follow appropriate procedures accordingly. Use standard procedures to identify the correct patient, review patients' requisitions, and understand the type of exam required by each requisition.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment, use imaging and peripheral equipment in a safe and productive manner, and observe and report any malfunctioning of the equipment.
  • Communication: Demonstrate skill in communicating with patients, medical staff, and other technologists, and effectively solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
Requirements
  • Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
