Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our team at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and customer service, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and promoting a safe and effective care environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient operation of the clinic or unit, including scheduling, planning, and resource management.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, prioritize, and document patient care plans, utilizing critical thinking and judgment.
  • Implement care plans, delegate tasks, and monitor the work of other nurses and unlicensed staff.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, escalating critical results and issues in a timely manner.
  • Act as a patient advocate, maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services.
  • Respect and maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, serving as a clinical and leadership resource for the team.
Requirements
  • Current state of Texas Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with one year of nursing experience, or Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with three years of nursing experience, or Nursing Diploma (3 year program) and two years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric setting, with a focus on infectious disease or sickle cell.
