Sidwell Friends School is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer II to join our team. As a critical member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Execute routine and preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning equipment to ensure efficient climate control in our buildings.
- Prepare various documentation, including preventive maintenance schedules, work and vacation schedules, work orders, and building inspection reports.
- Offer recommendations related to policies, procedures, and actions to ensure the efficient operation of maintenance/custodial services and regulatory compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective functioning workspace.
- Ready facilities for daily operations, including tasks like opening gates, building access doors, disarming security systems, and performing minor repairs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school training is a plus.
- Minimum of Five (5) years of progressive experience with the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- EPA Type III Certification required (NIULPE 3rd Class, Maryland 1st, or DC 6th Class Operating Engineers license is a plus).
- Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; significant fine finger dexterity.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
Sidwell Friends School offers a competitive salary range of $75,000-$101,999, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
