We are seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to ensure the effective, efficient, and timely delivery of our services. HVAC Technicians are mobile and utilize various trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locksmithing, painting, and roofing for a diverse range of clients within a designated geographical area. Technicians are provided with a company vehicle, tools, and equipment. They operate from their home base and access their daily routes through company-issued devices.
Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Summary:
Responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and timely service to multiple clients within an assigned geographic territory. Technicians are equipped with a company vehicle and tools, traveling to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties. In addition to performing minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance, EMCOR Field Operations HVAC Technicians conduct preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of commercial HVAC systems. They perform tests and analyze data to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and provide recommendations as necessary. Technicians understand control operations and sequences for commercial HVAC systems and utilize multiple trade skills to resolve maintenance issues. Strong communication skills are essential for fostering positive relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on standard package and split unit HVAC systems common among light commercial clients, including inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, cleaning of condensate drain lines, and testing the performance of compressors and motors.
- Perform general repairs on steam/hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting issues.
- Utilize refrigerants safely and efficiently in compliance with EPA regulations while servicing HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and repair common mechanical, electrical, or system failures on HVAC systems, including belts, compressors, and circuit boards.
- Complete preventative maintenance and repairs as per work order requirements.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems.
- Conduct routine painting and carpentry work to maintain facilities in excellent condition.
- Execute minor electrical maintenance as permitted by state law.
- Conduct service inspections and asset inspections as required.
- Fully utilize technology for work order management and reporting.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal support teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete required safety and compliance training and attend safety meetings.
- Provide estimates for larger projects and services as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or Degree/Certification in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 years of HVAC/General Maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, or equivalent training and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety policies, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in using handheld devices and business systems.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety policies.
- Experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems.
- Daily local travel between properties is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to climb or balance. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet conditions, high places, fumes, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is considered normal.
Compensation Range: $30-$35 / hour
Other Compensation: Sign-on bonus eligible.
