Job Summary:

As a Production Supervisor at Butterball, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our production lines. This position requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide a team to meet production standards while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise production team members, providing guidance, training, and feedback to optimize performance.
  • Serve as a role model and initiate proactive actions to ensure team understanding and compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Accountable for team adherence to manufacturing protocols, product specifications, quality guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Ensure effective use of labor, tools, supplies, and equipment to maximize efficiency and capacity.
  • Conduct routine scanning of the department to identify and solve problems or escalate as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic/paper-based records of production data.
  • Update appropriate parties with downtime or other issues as they arise.
  • Conduct routine safety and quality audits as required.
  • Participate in investigations (e.g., accidents, employee complaints, etc.).
  • Actively participate in department/facility meetings.
  • Must be hands-on with the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly skilled at motivating employees to accomplish objectives.
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, and requirements; or ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
  • Familiar with operations metrics, such as yields, lbs./birds per man hours (PMH), line speeds, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at both the strategic and functional level.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Poultry, Animal or Food Science, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Experience in poultry/meat food manufacturing helpful.
