Job Overview

Vodastra Technologies is seeking a skilled Cable Infrastructure Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for resolving cable-related issues and ensuring the integrity of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot cable systems, including twisted pair copper, DS3 coax, and Cat 5e/6 structured cabling systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues with network hardware, including DSL modems, routers, NID splitters, and DSL filters.
  • Install and configure voice switches, data network hardware, and wireless access points.
  • Perform cable testing and certification to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of cable installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cable infrastructure with other network systems.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in cabling systems and related fields, such as telecommunications, networking, or electrical engineering.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex cable-related issues.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, including EIA/TIA, BICSI, and NEC.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics to assess and resolve equipment and system failures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with wireless technologies, including 802.11a, b, g, n, and wireless access point surveys.
  • Knowledge of MPLS, T1, and DSL circuits.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressures and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
