About the Position

The Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Translational Center for Child Maltreatment Studies. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on and initiate research projects that have the potential to inform improvements to the child welfare system in Pennsylvania and nationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on and initiate research projects that focus on improving the safety and well-being of children who encounter child welfare agencies
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of faculty, students, and staff, as well as community partners
  • Develop and lead projects, with opportunities for training in applied, systems-focused research, innovative methodologies, and manuscript and grant development
Requirements
  • A doctoral degree or equivalent in social welfare, public policy, human development, psychology, or a related social and behavioral science
  • Strong data processing and quantitative analysis skills
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to the ethical conduct of research
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using administrative records for research
  • Proficient in Stata
  • Experience with primary data collection
