Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented researcher with expertise in child maltreatment, child welfare services, and related topics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with our interdisciplinary team of faculty, students, and staff to conduct applied, systems-focused research and develop innovative methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on child maltreatment and child welfare services, with a focus on improving the safety and well-being of children who encounter child welfare agencies.
- Collaborate with Drs. Sarah Font and Christian Connell to develop and lead research projects, including data analysis, manuscript development, and grant writing.
- Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of faculty, students, and staff to advance the mission of the Penn State Translational Center for Child Maltreatment Studies.
- Develop and lead projects, with opportunities for training in innovative methodologies and manuscript development.
- A doctoral degree or equivalent in social welfare, public policy, human development, psychology, or a related social and behavioral science.
- Strong data processing and quantitative analysis skills.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the ethical conduct of research.
- Experience using administrative records for research.
- Proficient in Stata.
- Experience with primary data collection.
The position provides salary and benefits based on those for NIH postdoctoral fellowships. Conference travel funds are also available for presentations stemming from the postdoctoral work.
