Cytotechnologist - Integrated Lab - St. Vincent Medical Center

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our Integrated Laboratory team at St. Vincent Medical Center. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in detecting evidence of precancerous, malignant, and infectious conditions by examining cells under a microscope.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures on patients of all ages according to established protocols.
- Provide patient clinical data or microscopic findings to assist pathologists in the preparation of pathology reports.
- Mount, stain, and examine smears under a microscope to evaluate specimen quality and recommend acceptance or rejection to Pathologist.
- Classify and distinguish abnormal cell structures and report abnormalities to Pathologists for further examination.
- Document data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into the hospital system for patient record.
- Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents used, and place orders for replacements as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Science: Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Laboratory Sciences, required.
- Completion of Cytotechnology Program, required.
- Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP), is required.
- Three years of Clinical Lab experience preferred.
