Job Overview

Position Summary

The full-time Logistics Operations Supervisor will enhance communication and synchronize efforts among technicians, warehouse personnel, volunteers, and various community-based groups to ensure that organizational objectives and standards are consistently achieved. An effective Logistics Operations Supervisor should be capable of guaranteeing efficient and cost-effective operational processes.

The primary aim of the Logistics Operations Supervisor role is to optimize efficiency while delivering products and services that effectively meet customer demands. This role also involves leading an efficient operation that consistently adheres to certification standards for R2 and NAID, while ensuring that existing inventory is effectively managed and supplied to appropriate sales channels in a timely manner to meet or exceed profit and loss targets.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Rapidly acquire knowledge of standard operating procedures currently implemented across all locations and ensure the seamless execution of our business model.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of personal computing technology and assist employees and stakeholders in leveraging this knowledge to produce high-quality, reliable products.
  • Gain insight into facility management and support employees and stakeholders in utilizing their understanding to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist fellow managers in fostering a strong sense of community among employees and volunteers.
  • Provide assistance in the adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.

Production Management

  • Oversee the establishment and smooth administration of the intake, warehousing, and refurbishment of devices.
  • Lead the configuration of the physical workspace, ensuring that conveyor systems, tech stations, testing stations, and inventory tracking systems are properly set up and operational.

Order Fulfillment Coordination

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of equipment for daily distribution, events, and special orders, including desktops, laptops, monitors, keyboards, and other essential components. Notify management if inventory levels are critically low or excessively high.
  • Daily Stock Management – Ensure a sufficient quantity of desktop and laptop computers is available across all pricing categories to meet daily demand.
  • Event Coordination – Collaborate with Community Impact Leads to ensure all equipment required for events is refurbished, packed, loaded, and delivered as scheduled.
  • Special Orders – Ensure that all equipment needed for special orders and distribution partners is refurbished, packed, loaded, and delivered to our partners when applicable.

Material Handling Support

  • Assist warehouse staff in maintaining an organized warehouse environment.
  • Ensure that all NAID-classified equipment is handled, processed, and reported in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Support the Account Manager with recycling pickups from vendors.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of inventory quantities.

Volunteer and Workgroup Oversight

  • Maintain a schedule for volunteers and community-based workgroups.
  • Train volunteers and other personnel on relevant skills and tasks.
  • Ensure that all staff provide guidance and answer questions from volunteers and workgroups.
  • Monitor the output and objectives of volunteers and workgroups.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on all work performed by non-staff workers.

Compliance and Maintenance

  • Develop a building maintenance schedule and ensure adherence to it.
  • Guarantee full compliance with NAID and R2 certification standards.
  • Promote and encourage safety practices among all staff members.

Performance Management

  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss progress and assist in developing individual and departmental goals.
  • Delegate tasks to staff, volunteers, and workgroups as necessary.
  • Continuously refine processes and help formulate policies that enable staff, clients, and partners to achieve improved outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 5+ years of relevant operations experience.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to contribute to a new office environment.
  • Adaptable and innovative, with a proven ability to develop and implement solutions quickly.
  • Previous experience in profit and loss management.
  • Demonstrated technical and operational skills to implement and adapt organizational models.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
  • Experience in management and team-building.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and a strong analytical thinker.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT Card.
