Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis machines for patient treatments
- Obtain and document necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient
- Evaluate vascular access pre-treatment and perform vascular access cannulation
- Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy
- Evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access and discontinues dialysis treatment according to established procedures
- Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to supervisor
- Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner
- Collect, label, and store lab samples according to required laboratory specifications
- Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy
- Assist other healthcare members in providing patient education
- Prepare, organize, and efficiently use supplies and equipment to prevent waste
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility (preferred but not required)
- Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification
