Job Title: Bridge Project Manager

William Charles Construction, a leading heavy civil construction company, is seeking an experienced Bridge Project Manager to join our team in Springfield, IL and surrounding areas.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead our bridge construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage field operations and contract administration, including safety, personnel, subcontract scheduling, material and equipment procurement, and schedule.
  • Develop and implement safety plans to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Manage contracts, including identifying potential change orders, changes in scope, changes in field conditions, and changes in ability to perform as bid.
  • Create and manage budgets, including tracking costs, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors, identifying and mitigating potential risk exposure and cost overrun exposure.
  • Plan and manage equipment types, personnel skill sets, means, methods, and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate cost accounting, schedule impacts, change order logs, and communication logs.
  • Submit monthly cost-to-complete projections and manage contract value amounts.
  • Report weekly quantities completed and compile data in Viewpoint.
  • Manage budget changes, change orders, and purchase order committed costs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil and bridge construction.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and team management approach.
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification.
