Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team at Waste Connections. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance department, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to corporate safety programs and foster collaboration among personnel.
  • Ensure adequate training of mechanics and preventative maintenance mechanics.
  • Ensure location compliance with all regulatory agencies and statutes.
  • Ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians.
  • Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment.
  • Train and assist mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
  • Schedule or assign work to mechanics, PM mechanics, or other maintenance shop personnel.
  • Coordinate and/or transport vehicles to outside service for repairs, as needed.
  • Test vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or test repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.
  • Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks.
  • Communicates regularly with the Division Maintenance Manager.
  • Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of mechanic experience with truck, light, or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to train and motivate staff.
  • Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Trade or Technical School Certificate preferred. High School or Equivalent required.
  • Holds or ability to certify for CDL within 90 days of start date.
  • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
