Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Specialist to join our team at Quality Technology Services, LLC. As a Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our employees by managing leave of absence requests, administering benefits, and implementing employee wellness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leave of Absence Support:
- Manage day-to-day leave of absence requests in partnership with our third-party administrator (TPA).
- Maintain professionalism and compassion while ensuring compliance with applicable policies.
- Maintain contact with employees on leave to provide ongoing support and communicate timelines and direction.
- Coordinate with HRBP, supervisors, and legal teams as needed for accommodation requests.
- Partner with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and accurate compensation.
- Provide updates on employee and payment status prior to each semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Coordinate with payroll to manage benefits catch-up upon employees' return to work.
Benefits Support:
- Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and organize informational sessions to keep employees informed about changes or updates to benefits programs.
- Provide administrative support for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, STD/LTD, and voluntary benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide excellent customer service via phone and email.
- Perform daily administrative tasks, including responding to emails and phone calls, processing qualified life events, and reviewing benefit changes in the HRIS system.
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
- Develop communications on new plans and policies and communicate them to employees and HR.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, maintain vendor integrations, and manage open enrollment in the HRIS.
Wellness:
- Assist with communication and support of quarterly wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate quarterly challenges and events for wellness activities.
- Order and distribute wellness awards.
Qualifications:
- BS in Business Administration, HR, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of benefits administration experience, primarily in health, new employee onboarding, and annual open enrollment.
- Workday HCM experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse client populations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, HRIS systems, and vendor systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with other departments and external partners/vendors.
- Ability to work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of contact.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
- Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding critical and sensitive information.
- Positive attitude and reliable teammate.
