Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the execution of pharmaceutical care, ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in all phases of pharmacy services, including medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepare and deliver medications for dispensing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Utilize pharmacy technology to distribute medications efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication supplies, including controlled substance inventories.
  • Package and label medications accurately and appropriately to minimize waste.
  • Compound medications in accordance with state law and policy, performing calculations as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist pharmacists in collecting clinical and other patient information as required.
  • Effectively manage pharmacy inventory to ensure security, accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with 340B/Charging management.
  • Escalate items to pharmacists for review as appropriate, based on urgency, regulations, and scope.
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential areas for improvement and contributing to departmental meetings.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire and must be maintained during employment.
  • Preferred: Associates or Bachelors Degree, Technician training, Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, and at least two (2) years working as a Pharmacy Technician.
Work Environment

This position is located at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. The hourly range for this position is $24.88, and actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
