Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the execution of pharmaceutical care, ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including verifying and monitoring controlled substance inventories.
  • Participate in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication lists and allergy information.
  • Operate pharmacy technology, including automated dispensing systems and barcode scanners, to ensure efficient and accurate medication distribution.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
  • Perform calculations and measurements as necessary for accurate compounding and dispensing of medications.
  • Contribute to quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process changes as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire and maintain during employment.
  • At least two years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician; preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a scheduled weekly hours of 40. The hourly range for this position is $24.88, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
