Design and Develop Innovative Battery Management Systems

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled BMS Hardware Engineer to join our team of experts in electric vehicle development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing centralized and distributed battery management electronics for electric vehicle applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mixed signal circuits and LV power electronics for battery management systems
  • Perform circuit analysis using analytical methods and simulations
  • Collaborate with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project management to meet project deadlines
  • Support testing team with development of validation test plans and end-of-line test specifications

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience with BMS applications and/or mixed signal PCB development with ADCs and digital I/Os
  • Adequate knowledge of circuit simulation software (Simulink, LTSPICE, PLECS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with common embedded communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, LCR meter, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Altium Designer, PTC MathCAD (or equivalent), Confluence, and Jira
  • Familiarity with basic control concepts such as bandwidth, stability criteria, phase margin, etc.
  • Experience with safety-critical automotive hardware development
