Join Pure Storage as a Hardware Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Systems Engineer to join our team at Pure Storage. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware systems for our storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hardware systems for our storage solutions, including server and storage systems.
  • Lead interoperability testing between server/storage systems and modules.
  • Debug testbeds and hardware-related problems, including internal, external, and JDM issues.
  • Participate in all phases of the product development cycle, including architecture, design, documentation, validation, and sustaining.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, customer, and JDM, to introduce new storage systems.
  • Perform failure and root cause analysis to support field issues, customer escalation, and continuous improvement.
  • Use automation, machine learning, and AI to enhance hardware/system design and validation.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware system design and development.
  • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (M.S. is a plus).
  • Experience working at enterprise system companies, particularly in storage/server development.
  • Strong understanding of x86/AMD architecture and proven design track record.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, BASH, etc., for automated HW qualification and regression testing.
  • Ability to understand system design tradeoffs, including mechanical, thermal, power, and signal integrity.
  • Experience with SSD standards and compliance testing, including PCI SIG, NVMe, etc.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced technical development environment.
