Job Overview

As an Associate Financial Advisor at Ameriprise Financial, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth operation of our fast-paced and friendly financial planning office. This position offers a unique opportunity to hone your skills and build a base of clients under the guidance of an experienced financial advisor. Your primary responsibility will be to assist financial advisors in working with clients to achieve their financial goals, while consistently adhering to high standards of business and professional ethics.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing client relationship support through managing, gathering, and analyzing client data, helping prepare financial plans, and working with clients to resolve issues.
  • Assisting in daily business operations, including responding to ad hoc requests, coordinating/tracking projects, and managing small business-as-usual projects.
  • Developing and implementing annual marketing plans to meet client acquisition goals, including contacting prospects, coordinating seminars, and leveraging natural markets.
  • Implementing key marketing activities, such as advisor website management, social media, online client experience, and referrals and networking.
  • Preparing for client meetings focused on planning discussions, gathering and entering client data, creating planning deliverables, and conducting and/or participating in client meetings to present recommendations/deliver advice.
Requirements and Time Allocation

This role requires a strong understanding of financial planning and marketing principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The time allocation for this role will change over time to meet the needs of the practice, but will include a minimum of 20% marketing and client acquisition and 25% financial planning and advice.
