Job Summary

Seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time temporary Life Sciences and Agriculture adjunct Librarian position at the University System of New Hampshire. The successful candidate will provide subject-specific information literacy instruction, research support, and instruction activities to the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver information literacy instruction to students in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture
  • Provide research support and instruction activities to students and faculty
  • Develop and maintain subject guides and other resources to support student learning
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate library services into academic programs
  • Stay current with developments in information literacy and library instruction


Requirements

  • ALA-accredited Master's degree or international equivalent in library or information science; or
  • A current graduate student with at least 15 completed credits in an ALA-accredited program; credit hours to include at least one course in the provision of reference services; or
  • Bachelor's degree with extensive experience in providing reference services to a varied clientele
  • Knowledge of reference resources and online databases
  • Ability to effectively engage students in the classroom
  • Understanding of the delivery of library services
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence and contribution to a work environment that affirms its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an academic library
  • Ability to operate with a high level of initiative
  • Interest in all aspects of academic librarianship and demonstrated flexibility in the work environment


Working Conditions

This is a part-time temporary position, 25-30 hours per week, at $26 per hour. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to provide library services to the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture community.
