We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Provide patient care and support during surgical procedures, including positioning and preparing patients for surgery.
- Assist in the handling and processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical experience.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
- Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Acute care surgical technologist experience.
- Strong orthopedic and ophthalmology scrub experience.
