Key Responsibilities- Technical Writing and Editing: Write and update technical documentation as needed, adhering to The Office of Federal Register standards.
- Data Management and Access: Provide support in all aspects of data management, retrieval, inventory, accessibility, and archival, including conducting inventory, providing metadata, and performing tasks required to comply with agency requirements.
- Project Management Support: Help NOAA Fisheries define and identify project milestones, monitor and communicate project progress, provide information about budget/resource needs, and provide general project management and/or administrative support.
- Business Process Improvement: Determine operational objectives, study mission goals, evaluate current business processes, and recommend improvements.
- Liaise with the Office of Chief Information Officer to ensure policy compliance.
- Record Maintenance of agency documents in accordance with Government Record Management Compliance.
- Communicate with Regional Offices to ensure compliance with Procedural Directives, Taskers, and related materials.
- Support in the development of national policy guidance for rulemakings to ensure the agency's compliance with NEPA, MSA, MMPA, ESA, and other related environmental laws and regulations.
- Create and manage reports to track NMFS regulatory actions to ensure accurate information is transmitted to NMFS leadership as well as the Department of Commerce General Counsel.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Geography, Oceanography, Marine Ecology, Political Science, or other relevant discipline.
- Experience working with federal environmental regulations.
- Experience working with various federal, state, and local agencies, stakeholders, and clients.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently work under tight deadlines and scheduled action dates.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently work independently on record management and administrative tasks without prompting.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information in writing and conduct data analysis.
- Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal skills.
- Proficiency in working with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and Google Suite.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance which requires passing a thorough background check.
