Job Description

As a Sign Language Interpreter with VocoVision, you will provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services to students in schools through our secure teletherapy platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of deaf culture, excellent communication skills, and experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and accurate ASL interpretation during virtual classroom sessions, meetings, and other school activities.
  • Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure effective communication and understanding.
  • Follow ethical standards and guidelines for professional interpreting practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Adapt to various communication styles and preferences of individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (CI, CT, CSC, NIC, or equivalent) required.
  • EIPA and Written Assessment preferred.
  • Experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of deaf culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using teletherapy platforms and technology for virtual service delivery.
