Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Department of Health Services (DHS) Central Wisconsin Center (CWC). As a CNA, you will provide care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, help new residents adjust to their living area, and observe and report behavioral, mental, and physical changes in residents. You will also record and summarize information in daily logs, clinical records, etc., and work cooperatively with others to promote a positive living environment.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, including assistance with activities of daily living, active treatment, and achievement of individualized goals for admission.

Work effectively as a member of a team and interact with others to promote a positive living environment.

Read, comprehend, and interpret charts/diagrams and policies/procedures.

Attend the required training full-time, Monday-Friday during the first 8 weeks of employment.

Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, including staying for the next shift to maintain facility staffing requirements.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age upon hire.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., carry, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and balance.

Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and interact with others.

Benefits

Starting pay is $25.06/hour for Objective or $26.42/hour for Advanced, or more based on state seniority.

Additional increases are based on years of service in the chart below.

3.5 weeks of vacation, 9 paid holidays, and ample sick time.
