Job Summary

The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations for construction projects. This role requires a strong background in construction management, with experience in heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise on-site project superintendents and project engineers.
  • Prepare notification documents regarding power, water, and fire utilities.
  • Develop and implement project schedules and budgets.
  • Negotiate with clients and vendors.
  • Participate in estimating and bidding processes.
  • Optimize operations and methods with project engineers.
  • Control project progress and ensure quality.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage project expenses and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Approve change orders and invoices.
  • Prepare final quantities reports.
  • Participate in training and development of construction engineers.
  • Recruit and hire project team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Recommend technical solutions and innovative products.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Participate in project close-out and final acceptance.
  • Ensure safety on the project site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction projects.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and practices.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
