Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Branch Builds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction engineering and project management, with excellent organizational and communication skills.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring project plans and specifications are followed, and creating line-item estimates. This role will also involve collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in construction field engineering and/or project management. Proficiency in project management software and tools is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
  • Identify and resolve any onsite issues or conflicts that may arise, escalating to the Project Manager as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing updates and insights on field operations and progress.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing project risks, including identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Develop line item estimates to be used on JOC contracts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction field engineering and/or project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
