Position: Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer
Job Overview
- Serve as an onsite Controls and Instrumentation Engineer within a process facility.
- Provide comprehensive designs and engineering documentation related to power and instrumentation setups for industrial operations.
- Establish the project scope through discussions with clients, liaise with the offshore team, and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs.
- Collaborate with clients to gather all necessary information to finalize the engineering design.
- Engage with suppliers and construction teams to obtain essential data for design completion.
- Participate in design evaluations alongside clients and construction teams to secure necessary approvals, and assist in construction and startup processes.
- Oversee the electrical commissioning of all processing and packaging machinery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer, crafting engineering design packages for industrial facilities.
- Expertise in selecting and designing control systems and hardware for monitoring industrial plant instrumentation.
- Ability to create Instrument Datasheets, IO Lists, Instrument Lists, Wiring Diagrams, and other engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems within industrial networks.
- Experience in designing Low Voltage Electrical Distribution, including Power Distribution Panels and Motor Control Centers, in accordance with industry standards.
- Knowledge of control panel design compliant with UL508A standards.
- Prior experience in system commissioning and validation is advantageous.
- Trained and certified in NFPA70E safety requirements.
- Strong communication, project management, and vendor management skills.
- Experience in Panel Engineering and Instrumentation & Control, including preparation of Instrument Datasheets, I/O Lists, Loop Drawings, and Hook-Up Drawings.
- Ability to effectively present information and address inquiries in a meeting setting.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to industrial operations.
- Experience in instrument selection for various field instruments, including those suitable for hazardous environments.
- Involvement in interdisciplinary activities such as P&ID reviews, 3-D Model assessments, and layout planning.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and approving procurement documents such as Material Requisitions and Vendor Drawings for instrumentation and control systems.
