Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Therapist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health services to our members. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat a broad range of mental health conditions. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing effective treatment plans, providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and ensuring seamless coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mental Health Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to members with acute or chronic mental health needs.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with treating physicians, psychiatric professionals, and allied health teams to plan and direct each member's treatment program.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of member treatment and progress, adhering to state and NCQA regulations.
  • Consultation and Education: Provide consultation to other care providers and health educators on matters related to mental health, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.
  • Supervision and Leadership: May supervise post-graduate fellows, associate clinical social workers, or associate professional clinical counselors, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) with the Couples and Families Endorsement within 24 months of hire.
  • Skills and Qualities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards, and a commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a multidisciplinary clinic.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous post-licensure experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team in an outpatient or inpatient setting/program under licensed supervision.
  • Skills and Qualities: Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity, accuracy in diagnosing patients and developing effective treatment plans, and competence in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
