Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Seasonal Forestry Assistant at the Eastern District Headquarters. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and projects related to forestry and environmental conservation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist DEEP Foresters with forestry work on State land, including marking boundary lines, collecting forest inventory data, and preparing areas for harvest.
  • Conduct timber stand improvement projects and boundary line encroachment investigations.
  • May assist with forest fire suppression and other emergency response efforts.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or related field, and experience with field data collectors, Forest Metrix, GPS, and GIS ArcMap.
