Surgical Medical Nurse Specialist

Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a talented RN to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital. As a Surgical Medical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
- Formulate a plan of care based on assessment data and patient input, including goals for patient care that are realistic, measurable, and developed in conjunction with the patient and family.
- Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the activities of the health care team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient teaching and revise the plan of care as needed.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure. BLS certification is also required. A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred, and professional certification is desired. Experience in a clinical area is necessary, and familiarity with electronic medical records, computerized physician order entry, and digital radiography is beneficial.
