Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Surveyor to join our team at the City of Boca Raton. As a key member of our Municipal Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the surveying and property acquisition activities, ensuring compliance with city codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation of the Survey Section and the Property/Land Record Section
  • Schedule and direct continuing projects for departments within the City concerning surveys and land transactions
  • Research public records for the preparation of stakeout sheets for boundary, topographic, as-built, underground utilities, and lot surveys
  • Prepare division budget and monitor expenditures
  • Review field notes, plots, and survey sketches for compliance with city code, planning, and zoning requirements
  • Maintain and update the City benchmark map for publication
Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of surveying and drafting instruments and methods
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering mathematics
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering
  • Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registration as a professional Land Surveyor in the State of Florida
  • Valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six points in the last three years
