Criminal Defense Attorney Supervisor

The Legal Aid Society is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Attorney to oversee the provision of client services in the Criminal Court Night arraignment part. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients and contribute to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise attorneys in the Criminal Court Night arraignment part, ensuring that client services are provided in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor and distribute CDP arraignment case attorney intake, as well as conflict cases to other providers.
- Assist attorneys in addressing substantive issues of cases to be arraigned, including troubleshooting over 24-hour arrest to arraignment time cases and unusual volume of online arrest cases to be arraigned.
- Attend regularly scheduled stakeholder meetings with external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor physical conditions of both courtrooms and holding areas to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients and staff.
- Prepare daily arraignment reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a criminal defense attorney.
- Felony certified for a minimum of three years prior to applying.
- Comprehensive knowledge of criminal and constitutional law, statutory interpretation, and ethical principles contained in the Code of Professional Responsibility.
- Ability to collaborate with external stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment.
- Superior oral and written advocacy skills and organizational skills.
