Job Summary:

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech II to join our team. As a Patient Care Tech II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, including cleaning the patient's room, operating clinical equipment, and assisting with emergencies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to a supportive and healing environment that promotes customer and staff satisfaction.
  • Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN and ensure that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
  • Comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Operate various clinical equipment, including bag-valve-mask devices, oxygen, and suction equipment.
  • Record patient intake and output, and assist RN/LPN in providing patient care according to individual needs.
  • Transport patients and patient specimens throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Participate in unit-based and system-wide Performance Improvement programs as required by department leadership.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification.
  • One year of direct patient care experience, or successful completion of a nursing assistant training course, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia, or current enrollment in a nursing program and completion of 2 clinical rotations.
