Job Title: Code Enforcement Manager

As a Code Enforcement Manager with the City of New Orleans, you will play a critical role in ensuring the city's housing code inspection and rehabilitation program runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include directing hearings, providing technical assistance to property owners, and enforcing municipal and other related City codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the overall activities of the city's housing code inspection and/or housing rehabilitation program.
  • Direct hearings with property owners and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Enforce municipal and other related City codes regarding zoning, land use, building, housing, dangerous buildings, inoperable vehicles, noise, litter, sanitation, weeds, and/or other public nuisance code provisions.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure compliance with City codes and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of inspectional experience interpreting, applying, and enforcing municipal and other related City codes, at least two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) of the required experience, but not for supervisory experience.
