Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Zone Operations Manager at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our front-end zone, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of customer service specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, addressing their needs in a timely and effective manner, and ensuring that all Whole Foods Market 365 guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
  • Zone Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the front-end zone, including maintaining break schedules, supervising team members, and ensuring that all shelves and displays are properly stocked and front-facing.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of customer service specialists, providing training, coaching, and feedback to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining back stock supply areas, analyzing and controlling product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
  • Cash Handling: Maintain security and accountability of all monies, and perform cash office duties as needed.
  • Store Programs: Support global, regional, and 365 store programs, and assist with store inventory as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior cashier experience and prior retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills, proactive problem-solving, excellent follow-through and listening skills, clear and effective communication style, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of products throughout the store or the ability to learn them quickly, and working understanding of and compliance with all Customer Service Security Policies and WFM policies and procedures.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, including walking and working on uneven surfaces.
  • Environmental Factors: Exposure to continuous background and occasional loud noises, and some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
