Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technical Specialist to join our team at ChristianaCare. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise in flow cytometry to drive excellence in laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot instrumentation problems to ensure effective technical operation of the section
  • Act as a reference for caregiver questions regarding instrument performance, methodology issues, and quality control
  • Maintain Quality Assurance (QA) of assigned sections, completing scheduled QA tasks and evaluating monthly quality control reports
  • Review and validate abnormal test results, assessing plausibility of lab results through correlation of values with common physiological conditions or specific patient symptoms
  • Prepare section for CAP and Joint Commission inspections, researching new procedures and updating technical procedures as needed
Requirements
  • BS MLS (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Minimum five years' experience in area of expertise, with one year in supervisory or leadership position
  • Subspecialty (ASCP) certification preferred
