Nursing Professional Development Specialist

The Clinical Skills Development Specialist supports the growth and refinement of clinical abilities in staff members. This includes fostering a culture that encourages ongoing education and training for both novice and experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of clinical experience in a hospital setting and be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with surgical services leadership to identify educational needs and develop programs to address them.
  • Design and implement an orientation program for new hires, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Develop and maintain competency programs for clinical, technical, and administrative support staff.
  • Track competency compliance and report exceptions to leaders quarterly.
  • Update policies and procedures as needed, working closely with content experts and leadership teams.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages staff to identify their own needs and develop personalized educational plans.
  • Maintain clinical skills and provide just-in-time training to staff as needed.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current NH RN license.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • BSN degree or enrollment in BSN program with expected completion within 2 years.
  • Master's degree preferred.
