Position Overview

The individual in this role will be responsible for securing events at the venue through a strategic sales initiative. This includes managing a portfolio of accounts and collaborating with clients on pricing and terms of the venue agreement.

Compensation: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $46,000 to $52,000.

Venue Highlights

Situated in a historic downtown area, the venue is recognized as the leading meeting space in its region. It features a harmonious blend of contemporary architecture, adaptable meeting spaces, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal location for various events.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieving designated revenue targets set for the Sales Team.
  • Promoting the venue to prospective clients, conducting tours, and providing comprehensive information regarding services and policies.
  • Effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintaining a substantial client base within the assigned market.
  • Collaborating with clients during the initial planning phase and ensuring a smooth transition to the Events Team post-contract.
  • Engaging in proactive outreach to potential clients through calls and emails.
  • Drafting event contracts and proposals.
  • Researching and identifying suitable groups for the venue.
  • Participating in industry events and trade shows.
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate data in the CRM system.
  • Building and sustaining effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Delivering presentations to various audience sizes.
  • Coordinating seamlessly with hotel and tourism partners.
  • Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A solid understanding of the events industry and the ability to assess space requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; training on specific industry software will be provided.
  • A high level of comfort in making sales calls.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Professional demeanor and communication skills.
  • Experience in an office environment with standard office equipment.
  • Strong financial acumen and reporting skills.

Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience. Previous event sales experience in a convention center, public assembly venue, or hotel is preferred.
