Job Title: 2nd Shift-Patient Registration Clerk

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a 2nd Shift-Patient Registration Clerk. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility by registering patients, verifying insurance, and coordinating with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Activate patients in the system of record and assist patients and customers in navigating the hospital facility.
  • Verify patient insurance and take appropriate action, including referrals to Patient Access Specialist or Financial Counselor as needed.
  • Ensure that required forms and documents are presented and explained at time of registration.
  • Obtain all necessary patient signatures at time of arrival.
  • Perform collections and cashiering functions when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with bed placement and ensure timely patient type and status changes.
  • Confirm and document insurance eligibility, including coverage limits, patient responsibility, and effective dates.
  • Daily focus on attaining productivity standards and recommend new approaches for enhancing performance and productivity.
  • Coordinate discharge processing with financial counseling, Case Management, and clinicians.
  • Serve as the ambassador between the ER and patients and visitors, promoting a customer-friendly environment.
