The Chemical Operator is a key member of the USALCO production team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant processes and equipment. This role requires a motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual who can work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of assigned processes, including the safe transfer of hazardous chemicals.
- Apply all plant safety rules, work guidelines/practices, and procedures.
- Develop and apply improvements in processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Perform quality assurance checks for manufactured products.
- Adjust formulations to ensure finished products meet specifications.
- Assist in loading trailers with products and unloading raw materials as needed.
- Complete Certificates of Compliance for loaded trailers and maintain accurate records.
- Perform maintenance tasks, including completing MP2 work order requests and inspecting plant equipment daily.
- Work a rotating shift schedule, including overtime, and provide physical labor as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Chemical manufacturing experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment.
- Prior forklift driving experience.
- Ability to wear a respirator system, pass a Spirometry test, and comply with safety protocols.
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
The Chemical Operator will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with exposure to hazardous chemicals and equipment. The ability to work at elevated platforms, traverse ship ladders and catwalks, and work in confined spaces is required.
