Job Title: Chemical Process Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD

Duration: Full time (Direct Hire)

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Process Engineer to join our team at Charter Global Inc. in a regional engineering leadership position. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading process engineering and project management activities, including maintenance, improvement, and expansion investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple small to large capital investment projects simultaneously at different manufacturing sites.
  • Oversee and manage external engineering teams, activities, and deliverables on larger projects or for engineering disciplines outside of Kemira's internal capabilities.
  • Collaborate with sourcing managers on procurement activities.
  • Perform process design, including P&IDs, PFDs, production capacity analysis, and equipment specification.
  • Collaborate with plant management on capital projects to ensure proper process design and equipment specification.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing and maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Assist with process safety, including management of change, process hazard analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Assist with creation of SOPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed.

Requirements:

  • 4-year bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with a working knowledge of plant technical process flows and operations.
  • Information technology skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and ERP SAP.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Overall knowledge of chemical processing equipment, plant processes, environmental guidelines, and state, federal, and local employment law.
